Porfirio Díaz ordered the building of the Palace of Fine Arts to commemorate the Centenary of the Beginning of Mexico’s Independence. It was begun in 1904 by Italian architect Adamo Boari, it was completed 30 years later. The outside of the building is in Art Nouveau style, the interior in Art Déco style.
